Our Story

Select Transport Partners was founded when a group of former colleagues and friends decided to create a brokerage with a fresh approach. Drawing on years of experience in logistics, operations, and technology, we’re thrilled to deliver superior service to the agent-based logistics market.

Headquartered in Matthews, NC, we specialize in delivering exceptional pricing and support to independent agents and their customers, driven by our proprietary AI-powered technology.

While tech plays a vital role in our operations, we never lose sight of the importance of personal relationships. Our leadership team is deeply involved in the day-to-day operations, working closely with agents, carriers, vendors, and our internal staff.

Our “Agent Only” model means there are no in-house brokers at Select. Our sole focus is on supporting our Agent Partners and helping them grow their business.

Tom Milosavljevich

With over 20 years of experience in logistics, I've been involved in nearly every aspect of the business, from Sales and Marketing to Operations and Claims. For the past 15+ years, I've focused on putting Freight Agents first by leading Agent Recruiting, Retention, and Development at two different companies before joining Select. I'm a proud Hoosier with a business degree from Indiana University. My wife Kelly and I, along with our triplet boys, live in Northwest Indiana. I'm thrilled to bring my consultative, Agent-First approach to Select Transport.

Lauren Russell

With over twenty years of experience in logistics and transportation, I am thrilled to be a part of the exceptional team here at Select. Originally from the Windy City, my family of four has made Charlotte our home since 2012. While I earned my degree in advertising from the University of Illinois, I gained experience in various areas ranging from human resources to marketing and operations. Chris Cobb

After graduating from UNCC with a degree in Marketing, I co-founded a successful freight brokerage in 2006 and helped grow that company to become one of the top 20 3PLs in the nation. At home, I’m a husband of 22 years with four boys and a dog. I love bringing new ideas to market, creating value, and sharing in the success of those around me. I’m excited to be working with my friends again and for all innovative ideas we have planned for Select!

Greg Baker

With over 16 years of experience designing, building, and scaling software products, I am passionate about using technology to eliminate barriers between you and your customers. Since 2012, I've been working in logistics, creating software solutions across various sectors of the third-party logistics industry. I've had the opportunity to work for some big-name companies and even launched and ran a logistics software startup. Joining the Select team is literally a dream come true; we are relentlessly focused on supporting our agents, customers, carriers, and employees. A native of Charlotte, NC, I reside here with my wife and five kids. I hold a BA from Brigham Young University.

Marc Bodley

Ever since my mother sent me to a computer/tennis camp one summer (and I still haven't figured out how those two go together), I knew I had a passion for technology. A graduate of the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology, I've spent the last eight years working in the freight industry. My mission is to ensure freight agents have the technology they need to tackle their unique challenges, regardless of size or scale, and impress their customers. Whenever I can break away from my computer, I love being surrounded by nature and greenery. My goal at Select is to build something truly remarkable.

My journey in programming began early—learning HTML and CSS on the family computer sparked a lifelong passion for technology. That passion grew through college and a coding bootcamp, where I discovered a love for solving real-world business challenges with code. As a Full Stack Developer at TIAA, a Fortune 100 financial services company, I saw firsthand how critical technology is in today’s fast-paced business world. Now at Select Transport Partners, I’m excited to bring that experience to the logistics industry and collaborate with a talented, forward-thinking team. Outside of work, I enjoy playing chess and spending time with family and friends.

Rick Sammons

With over eight years of experience in a top 25 brokerage as both a Director and Application Developer, I specialize in building and supporting Transportation Management Systems (TMS). My expertise lies in creating robust logistics solutions that streamline operations and enhance efficiency. I have also served as a Paratrooper in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne Division, an experience that honed my leadership and problem-solving skills. Outside of work, I am an avid woodworker and enjoy spending time on the water as a boater.

These roles have deepened my understanding of logistics and sharpened my problem-solving and relationship-management skills. Before logistics, I built a strong foundation in finance and customer service in the banking sector. Now, I’m excited to be back with some of the brightest minds in the industry and to be part of the team at Select Transport Partners, contributing and growing alongside talented professionals.

While finishing my final semesters at UNCC, I had the opportunity to work in the logistics industry. After earning my bachelor's degree in Accounting, I've spent the past ten years in various roles within the logistics sector, managing strong accounting and finance practices with the support of incredible teams. Originally born in Arkansas, I moved to North Carolina at a young age, and the Charlotte area is now home to me. I'm proud and excited to lead the accounting and finance needs of our agents, carriers, customers, and team. I’m thrilled to be a part of Select Transport Partners!
